Well, just about any group activity planned in 2020 has been cancelled, BUT NOT the Christmas Bird Count! We believe it is possible to have Cordova’s COVID-Correct Christmas Bird Count (CCCCBC), and get people outside in a safe manner, despite the pandemic. Of course, the event will be modified to fit the circumstances: people/families will drive their own cars and the compiling potluck will be replaced with a compiling Zoom call! Other than that, it is same as usual: up to the birds… and weather in of course.
The date will be Saturday, December 19. The count will take place during daylight hours. Please shoot me a message if interested and let me know your route preferences. Everyone will be assigned to a route with a route leader. We will finalize groups and other plans as the event gets closer.
